Dr. Willie D. Robinson is a Social Crisis Minister of the gospel who became senior pastor of the University Community Christian Church on October 14, 1998, succeeding his mentor the late Dr. William W. Hannah. Dr. Robinson is an accomplished author, distinguished counselor, and revered motivational speaker. He has written church ministry manuals, bylaws, and social crisis dissertations which can be found at various theological seminaries and churches all across the nation. Dr. Robinson has earned nearly a dozen degrees in a wide variety of areas. He was born and Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 

Dr. Robinson exhibited organizational skills as a youth by organizing groups of family and friends in the neighborhood for games and recreational activities. He worked at the YMCA with children as a youth during the summer while in high school. He also served for years as a basketball player and coach and instructor for young men. His spiritual experience and praxis was developed at the historic Second Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent and at LaRue D. Carter Hospital while working as a pediatrics psychiatric counselor and later as the director.

 

 

While at the hospital, Dr. Robinson developed and budgeted various activities, incentive programs, and disciplinary measures for children who were psychologically and/or physically impaired.
 

Dr. Robinson joined University Community Christian Church in 1993 and served as an elder for two years before becoming pastor. Previously, he served as Devotional Leader, Chairman of the Mens’ Usher Board, Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, Marriage Counselor, and Mentor. He is the founder of the TPM program, which is a Model Ministry for the Individual Self-Esteem and Cognitive Development of Young African American Males.  Dr. Robinson has obtained nearly a dozen degrees since 1971. A few of Dr. Robinson’s most recent academic credits include: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Martin University: 1991), Master of Science in Business Management (Indiana Wesleyan University: 1993),  Master of Science in Urban Ministry (Martin University: 1997) and a Doctor of Ministry in Social Crisis Ministry (United Theological Seminary: 2000). Dr. Robinson poignantly stated: “The church must grow in spiritual health and spiritual wealth. Once the church surrenders to doing the work of social crisis ministry, only then will God heal the community.”

 

 

LEADERSHIP  IS  A  BLESSING.

 

Through his vast education Dr. Robinson has been a blessing to many as a personal counselor and as a contract negotiator for the United Auto Workers (UAW) and Daimler Chrysler Corporation for nearly 30 years.  He has been married to Indianapolis Realtor Maggie Pat Downing-Robinson for more than three decades and together they have three children: Rakale, (R.N., MSN); Warren, (B.A.,- Indiana University, J.D.- Howard University), and Rakeisha, (B.S. University of Kentucky).

 

Pastor Dr. Willie D Robinson was called home by God peacefully in his sleep October 18, 2020.
