parking

There is plenty of on-the-street parking in front of the church on Prospect Street as well on the side of the church on Madeira Street. The Church also owns a two acre lot beside the church available for Parking.

Length  0f  church  Service

Our services are predicated on the Holy Spirit. While we are respectful of time and operate in an organized fashion to maximize the service and Spirit, we set no time limits for how the Spirit may move. Generally our services rarely extended beyond two hours with the exception of special occasions.

church   attire

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Our welcome includes everyone so the decision of what to wear is completely up to you. While we believe it is important and optimal to dress nicely for the Lord (as you would for anyone/anything else you consider important), dress should never be a barrier in coming to worship with us as we will welcome you regardless of the clothing you are wearing. You are special.

visitor  expectations

You will never be called out or forced to work in a ministry. While you may be greeted in loving kindness by one of our many loving and friendly members, all visitors will be generally recognized. The decision to stand up and be acknowledged or to speak is entirely your own. We do not call out our visitors. Furthermore, ministry work is reserved for members. So, as you grow in fellowship and relationship with the Lord, He will move you into ministry on His terms.

church  bibles

You do no not necessarily need a Bible. However, a Bible will help you to follow along during service---so if you have a Bible, bring it with you to church. Our Pastor will always refer to the Bible during his messages. If you do not have a Bible or forget to bring your Bible, no worries! Bibles are available in the sanctuary pews or one of our many friendly members will kindly share theirs with you.

church  membership

At the end of every sermon an invitation is given to anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or anyone who would like to become part of the UCC Church family. This could be done by (1) Christian experience or a profession of your faith, (2) a letter of transfer from your previous church or pastor, or (3) by an oral statement of your desire to discover Jesus or Watch Care (one of our programs for those new to the faith).

OUR  MISSION

UCC Church Mission.

Our Mission at UCC Church is to recruit, engage, and challenge our members, families, communities, and the whole world with the ‘Good News’ incorporated by the gospel of Jesus Christ and to assist them in a personal creative interpretation of His word.

UCC Church Mission Statement.

We are a nondenominational congregation dedicated to Christ from a social crisis perspective that truly believes “Everything in Your Life Will Work When you Decide to Place God First." Our social crisis ministry is applicable and inclusive to all who believe or desire to discover that Jesus is the savior and the Son of God, predicated on the philosophy that scripture should be studied and used as a guide for love, life, direction, peace, forgiveness, and understanding.

Our social crisis ministry instructions are made clear in Luke 4:18-19: “The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

Our mission is derived from this; we are charged to recruit, engage and challenge our families, communities and the whole world with the ‘good news’ incorporated by the gospel of Jesus Christ and to assist them in a personal creative interpretation of his word. We believe that God can bring health to the poor; wholeness to the broken hearted; relief to the captives; sight to the blind; and comfort to the bruised. The church will use the gospel as the cornerstone for our spiritual foundation as we truly believe that “Everything in your life will work when you decide to Place God First.”

our  beliefs

UCC Creed of Faith.

We Believe in God, the father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting: Amen.

our  vision

UCC Church Vision.

Our vision at UCC Church is to take the broken, the hurt, the lost, the weak, and all other stations of people and turn them into powerful witnesses for Christ.

UCC Church Vision Statement.

Our vision at UCC Church is based upon the Great Commission as stated by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the age.”

Our vision is to take the broken, the hurt, the lost, the weak, and all other stations of people and turn them into powerful witnesses for Christ. We aim to transform lives by helping people come to the actualization of our theme ‘Everything in Your Life Will Work When You Decide to Place God First.’ We believe that there is no one God cannot use, irrespective of their social, moral, or financial position in life. We envision our members to go forth as powerful witnesses of someone having once been inflicted with a crisis, hurt, pain but now remarkably transformed by God---now connecting others to Christ.

UCC Church Vision Fulfilled.

We believe that for people to truly ‘Place God First in Their Lives’ and transition from the “lost” into a powerful witness for Christ they must: 1). Engage the word of God through creative and personal thoughts or expressions; 2). Understand the word of God through fellowship, teachings, and study; 3). Apply the word of God to their daily lives through confession, prayer, and consultation; 4). Share the word of God with all those they come in contact, especially those who seek or desire to know Him. It is our prayer that through small study groups, practical and in-depth sermons, classes, seminars, workshops, conferences, loving fellowship, and genuine relationships, we will equip our members with the necessary skills to become powerful witnesses for Christ.
